Functionally, it's one of the coolest sets I've ever owned. And that's even including the sopwith with working control surfaces!
The real MSL has a rocker bogie wheel system, which keeps all 6 wheels on the ground at all times. This actually works on the Lego set. It's incredible!
In addition, Lego really did the set proper. It's in a nicer box than normal, and the instructions are actually in a bound booklet. The front of the booklet has information on the rover and mars program. As you work through the model, there's a few facts presented. The back of the book has a letter about the sets creator (a JPL engineer)
I give this a 12 out of 10. If you like Lego or the space program, you must own this set

Awesome! I remember reading about this while they were trying to get it built. Where did you buy it from?

I have the Delorean. They really do the Cuusoo sets nice.
